Identification of quantitative trait loci associated with sorghum susceptibility to Asian stem borer damage

چکیده
Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) is an important crop originated in Africa that shows susceptibility to herbivores. In this study, we identified two sorghum genotypes with highly contrasting levels of stem damage caused by the caterpillars Asian borer (Ostrinia furnacalis Guenée). Recombinant inbred lines (RILs) from genetic cross between resistant (BTx623) and susceptible (NOG) were used perform a quantitative trait locus (QTL) analysis field. Two major QTLs responsible for higher NOG infestation three independent field seasons detected on chromosomes 7 9, interestingly positions overlapped plant height. As height correlated, propose height-associated morphological or physiological traits could be establishment and/or sorghum.

Identification and Mapping of Quantitative Trait Loci Associated with Salinity Tolerance in Rice (Oryza Sativa) Using SSR Markers
Salinity stress is one of the most widespread soil problems next to drought, in rice growing areas. ReducingSodium (Na+), while maintaining Potassium (K+) uptake in rice are traits that would aid in salinity tolerance. Therefore, the identification of quantitative trait loci (QTLs) associated with those for Na+ and K+uptake, will enable breeders to use marker-assisted selection...

low- temperature (lt) tolerance is an economic trait in winter wheat that determines the plants’ ability to successfully cope with below freezing temperatures. to identify the genomic regions associated with lt tolerance in hexaploid wheat, an f2:3 population was produced from crossing between winter type and tolerant parent, mirnovoskaja 808 (lt50 = -20oc), and spring type and susceptible pare...
